Key documents that were presented prior to JWN survey

The following draft documents represent the JWN's "work in progress" on a proposal for
infill compatibility standards covering roughly the area of the JWN that's currently zoned
R-2. This area is identified as the "Jefferson and Westside R-2" (JWR2) heritage area.

GREAT NEWS!
On December 14, 2009, the City Council voted unanimously
(8-0) to adopt the S-JW special area zone that implements infill
compatibility standards proposed by the JWN.

This followed the unanimous recommendation of the Planning
Commission in October. Commissioners had these comments:

Commissioner Randy Hledik said:
"I think this whole effort
demonstrates how Growth Management Policy 6 can be
implemented -- 'increasing density while preserving the
character of neighborhoods.' Outstanding job!
"

JWN members overwhelmingly
approve infill compatibility
standards for two areas in the
neighborhood.

At the February 10 JWN General Meeting, the
membership voted 73-6 to recommend City
Council adopt the proposed infill compatibility
standards.

Commissioner John Lawless said: "[This effort] has always had a very high bar set for
the outcome, and I think that's been achieved. And, I would love nothing more than to
have this be forwarded on to City Council for approval  ...."
