Be part of making our neighborhood a great place to live
Give a little time and talent and gain a lot in return

Great neighborhoods happen because people who live in them care.

Come join your neighbors and help maintain the Jefferson Westside
Neighborhood as a
safe, vital place to live.

Here are some of the o
pportunities to  ensure the JWN thrives:
Help coordinate a neighborhood event. Or, help out as a "worker bee" at one or more
events.

Manage the JWN e-mail service.

Use the Web-based iContact service and tools to add text to a standard e-mail template and click a button to have it sent to e-mail subscribers. Requires being
comfortable with using a Web browser and basic text editing. Does not require
knowing HTML of other programming. Typically, there are two to four e-mails sent
    each month.

Initial training and on-going help will be provided from both the iContact Tech Support
and a JWN member who is experienced with this service.

Manage the JWN Web page.

Use PC or Mac-based tools from Yahoo! to create and edit Web pages on JWN topics. Web pages are created and modified with a simple WYSIWYG (What You See Is What
You Get) editor and existing templates. Some familiarity with HTML is helpful, but not
    essential.

and a JWN member who is experienced with this service.

Edit JWN postcard announcements and occasional newsletters.

Use PC or Mac-based tools of your choice (Word, PageMaker, etc.) to edit and layout five simple  postcard announcements and two four-page newsletters (in a year). Web
pages are created and modified with a simple WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You
Get) editor and existing templates. Some familiarity with HTML is helpful, but not
    essential.

Initial training and on-going help will be provided by a JWN member who is an
    experienced editor.

    Please volunteer!

Act as Parliamentarian at JWN General Meetings.

Provide the Chair or other presiding officer with assistance in conducting JWN General Meetings. Sound understanding of Robert's Rules of Order and best practices
for running meetings is required. There are eight general meetings a year, but you can
volunteer for fewer than that if you prefer.

    Please volunteer!
